I just LOVE sushi too much

Wakakaka!! Joanne and I hit Samsi Japanese Restaurant just now. Both of us enjoyed having sushissss for our dinner.

Today is my off day so I decide to pamper myself by eating something special. I had always wanted to eat sushi but can't seem to find a companion to eat with (as for sushi buffet, it need a minimum of 2 person to order sushi buffet)

Joanne happened to call me up and so we ended up eating 2 rounds of sushisss today.

Those sushisss were just so tempting!! Let me tell you, I ate 2 rounds of this sushisss just now.

As for dessert, we ordered ourselves ice cream with cognac and baileys cocktail.

Although it was a bit pricey but it taste really great, baileys ice cream with cognac at the bottom. It was amazing that although the ice cream was cold but my stomach felt so warm after eating it.

I start to miss the sushiss badly now. Looking forward to hit the restaurant again.

I am so dead~

I received a call from Jack asking me why I dint attend the wine testing ceremony just now. F**k, I really don't know that the wine tasting were suppose to be for all of us to attend, I thought it was just for the bar staff. What more to say I am off today and yesterday.
And hell ya,I'm f**king dead meat this time! But I will attend the cocktail making session in da future as Jack said there wasn't enough time for them to do it just now.

A night to remember

Tonight is a blast!! I bought a 5 pound ticket from Joanne yesterday, it was a dinner and dance ticket organised by her church. My shift ended 4pm just now and I headed to meet Joanne as soon as I left Trafford Centre.

This was the settings of the tables in the church. According to Joanne,it's kinda formal compare to last year as last year was a buffet setting where everyone can just get their food in the center of the table.
It's been a long time since I last attended this kinda party. On each of the table, put the starters, for people to munch on before the dinner was served. The starters was samosa, spring rolls and prawn crackers.

There were 2 choices given for our dinner, either Nasi lemak with prawn sambal or chicken rice. I've chosen chicken rice as Nasi Lemak was said to be spicy. The dinner itself was great and surprisingly it was made by several aunties from the church.

After dinner, we were divided into groups and we done some small quiz and dinner dance. I was paired with an uncle during the dance while his wife and daughter were just beside me. He said to me that he doesn't know how to dance.

Soon, we danced as the music go on and it was fun!!I said to the uncle "just have some fun although we both can't dance that well." Few minutes later, we managed to memorised the steps of the dancing and it went pretty well.

After the pair dancing was the group dancing. Auntie Swee Leng taught us a few steps of simple dancing and as the music went on, we danced in a group, this reminds me doing aerobic exercise when I was back in Malaysia. Even though I am not that well in dancing nicely but I just enjoy myself dancing in the group. This was to burn off some calories which I gained during the dinner while ago.

No photos loaded as no one snap for me while I am busy dancing myself.

At the end of the night, I was awarded the best female dancer among the group of people and this is the prezzie which I got.
Not forget to thank Joanne for bringing me to such a wonderful and memorable party.

OMG!!! Its been a long time

Gosh!!I didn't keep my promise to update my blog everyday, sorry for my fans who stalk after my blog and found nothing being updated. I am back now, today is my off day so I kinda feel free to blog.

I had a great outing with 2 of my restaurant colleagues just now, we hit a bar name Synclair Oysters pub, near city centre. We sat outside the bar, meaning open air as it was full house inside the bar. It was quite a nice experience for me,though.

Here comes the picture I took... ...
It is quite an old bar.... ....

We sit outside the bar, surprisingly,I can stand the cold
I ordered myself an Organic Cherry Beer, it taste nice!! To describe the taste, I would say that it tastes like beer but its not bitter, its sweet and soft with the aromatic smell of cherry. Two lovely colleagues of mine, Uzma and Carolina, snapped in the dark, what happened to my night mode huh??
Here's the photo taken with flash light. Actually, my face was kinda red after drinking the beer but this picture can't tell huh?
Another picture of US!!
Need to sleep early as my shift is 11am tomorrow, good night!!

Work like you don't need money!!

Last night I was toooooo tired to blog as its the restaurant grand opening, I was like working from 8am till 10.30pm, take the bus and reach home, bath and sleep, I don't even have the chance to turn on my computer. what more to say blogging!

After 2 days working in the restaurant, I am very sure that I really enjoy it!I love the stuffs I do. Carrying dishes to side tables, looking at couples enjoying themselves in the candle light dinner, learn about wine etc etc.
I am having a great time working, my shift's totally different from mindy's shift as both of us does the same job. I take the morning shift for now while she take the night one.
When I leave her just now, the restaurant was still busy and I feel so wrong to just left her alone but I need to left with the people from the same shift.
Now, I think I need to go to the bed early as I dint sleep well for the last two days. Bye~~

Work like an ant today

We had done lots of cleaning just now. Wiping cutlery, crockery, wine glass. For a newly open restaurant, trust me,there's plenty of work to be done. Imagine all the plates, cutlery stuck in the box,we need to take it out and wash it,wipe it.

Afternoon I had a baguette which was made by the chef of our restaurant. The baguette is filled with slices of cheese name brie and lettuce, frankly speaking,it was kinda weird,I mean the taste, and I don't like it.

The whole team member of the restaurant are so tired and work out till the evening. Every one's facial expression just now was like hai~very tired,~can't feel my feet,~the bottom of my feet hurts,~I think I gotta change another pair of shoes.
In the evening, chef did cook the dish from the menu for us to taste. I dint manage to take the picture of the food before it was attack by all of us.

Was planning to take the pictures of the foods at first but then I realise that everyone surrounded the food so I feel kinda bashful to take the picture of the food one by one in front of all of them.**avoid people from saying-why is she doing that?!!**
To conclude, I work from 9am till 1opm today and by the end of the day, Hussein treat us Pizza from Pizza Hut and it is nice, there are lots of flavours but I eat pepperoni, I wonder why there isn't any Hawaiian chicken which I use to eat.**hmm**

If I had Hawaiian Pizza for tonight, I guess I will think of my family because when I was in hometown, we always ordered Hawaiian Pizza when we visited Pizza Hut. **miss dining with them so badly now**

I'm not repending! I've made the right choice!!

Today I spend my whole day in The Trafford Centre helping the restaurant to do preps before its grand opening on this coming Saturday noon. Hussein did give us a lil quiz on the restaurant's menu just now and it was kinda tense for me though I had already memorize it all.

Things we do today is like carrying boxes of beverages, learning the menu deeper, learning to use their coffee machine which worth 6,000 pound, it was kinda fun and I like it!

We all get our uniform today and here is how it looks...

Black in colour....long sleeve...and the button is up till the neck...we need to button it all when we're working...you can imagine...black trousers and black blouse...I feel that I am ready for a kungfu fighting lesson instead of serving guest when I wore it just now.

I was told by Hussein just now that I will be working in between the kitchen and restaurant area with Mindy. He didn't actually explain what is my position but I think that it was kinda like runner or kitchen commis.

Look!!Frankly speaking,I was a bit surprise at first when I heard it but when I think back, why not? I should start from the bottom in order to gain experience, right? As I am just a fresh graduate, I need experience in order to build up my confidence.

When I am ready for the waitressing job, Hussein will then "upgrade" my position to waitress, I think if I am not mistaken, this was what he told me just now.

Anyway, I will be getting the same amount of pay, only that I will be doing different kinda task, that's all.

I've chosen this job and I definitely tell you without any hesitation that I'm going to love my job. As what people always said, choose what you love, love what you choose. My instinct tells me that I am going the right way and I am going to prove those who think that I am wrong in the future!!

What can I say? I just love my job. Seriously!

Listless life

Oh my god...what a boring day...I will be starting working the day after tomorrow. I am looking forward to it!!
Did I ever mention to you that I love challenging life? Abit of pressure in life keeps life moving on!! What do you think? Do you like challenging life? I hate boring and listless life, you know? Like what I'm having NOW!!

Days without bus pass

Days without bus pass. I hardly go anywhere without a bus pass. At last I just spend the whole day watching anime and entertainment series. C'mmon, I need a dos of humour here!! It was kinda waste of time but the bus pass is kinda pricey for me.

7 October 2007

Great but short meet up

I finally had a meet up with Kai Ting and Fufu just now. I was planning to bring them around City Centre,China Town and the Gay's village at first but time doesn't allow us. At last we skipped the Gay's village. **hish hish**

Kai Ting and me at Piccadilly Garden.

We took this photo outside Tai Wu, see the queue there? Seriously... every one's addicted with Tai Wu's Dim Sum!!Inside Tai Wu after our Dim Sum breakfast.

We took this photo before they set off to The Old Trafford stadium with their society. Really enjoy the time we had just now but it was quite a rush for us.

Looking forward seeing you guys again!!

6 October 2007

Meet up!!

I will be having a meet up with my secondary classmate, Kai Ting tomorrow as she will be coming the whole way from Leeds to Manchester together with her society.
Only that I realize that she's the first secondary school mate who visit me here at Manchester after a year time. I am so excited when I heard that she's coming here as I didn't see her for ages!! It's almost 3 years time if I'm not mistaken!!.
The last time I saw her was when we graduated together during high school. Phew!! That's a long time ago!!
I plan to bring them to visit the City Centre, China Town, St. Peter Square and also The Gay Village!! It will be quite an exciting day tomorrow.

Mayday!! Micros and alcoholic Alert

Mayday!Mayday! I had my training about Microsjust now, a type of system which details (orders of the customers, table numbers)were entered into the system to be sent to the kitchen and bar.
What can I say? Its a totally new experience for me!! Trying hard to click and click, learn and learn. Step by step, is quite easy at first, but when it came to the alcoholic section, damn, I acted like a fool because my limited alcoholic knowledge had failed me from finding where Gin and Tonic is. I was like:-eh, eh, where ah?where to look for the Gin and Tonic??-_-''
An Indian girl who was grouped with me knows so much about alcoholic beverages. She then told me that:- its under the "Gordon". When I clicked Gordon, there it is, Gin and Tonic. But... but...there are around 50 kinds of alcoholic beverages in the system!!and the worst is that I don't know any of them as I seldom drink alcohol ma....
Mayday Mayday!!!! HELP!! Now I am here thinking, those who knows alcoholic beverages well are so lucky as they only need to learn Micros while me? I need to learn Micros and alcoholic beveragessssss. **wtf, wtf**
Smirnoff, Gin and Tonic, Vodka with No Mixers and many more...By the way, who invented those drinks anyway?

4 October 2007

On your mark, get set, GO!!

I had memorised all the menu description of the restaurant just now. Hope it will stay still in my head FOREVER!! Hope I will not forget it if I am being ask about it tomorrow.

And now, I can tell you that I am so ready for tomorrow's training!! Frankly speaking, I had never tried any of those dish from the menu. Its sound so silly isn't it? Memorising a bunch of item which I myself had never tried before.

3 October 2007

I feel good!!

Today is a toilet day for me!! I realize that I haven't scrub the toilet as if for years. Since I've been lying around doing nothing, I think is time for me to brush up the toilet. All I do just now in the toilet was squatting there scrub and scrub, wash and wash, rinse and rinse... ...
In the end, I feel so good bathing inside a clean and sparkling toilet.

The end!!

SMS message

Just received a SMS message from Hussein this afternoon telling me to attend the training on Friday,10am. My instinct tells me I will be passing a totally different lifestyle starting from that day on. What do you think?
I miss my school days life....those Halycon days of mine...Goodbye...forever... ...
Us, attending PE class. This photo was snapped in the volleyball court.
The best memory of mine in secondary school is the sports day...I remembered all the hard work and effort the whole class put to get all the preparations done. The training that we had, marching.
Teachers day celebration. I remembered I contributed a home made fruit salad on this day
The Blue House Marching Team!! Stich was our sign!! I am one of them, why izzit my face hiding behind the blue house board la??!!

Fear to work not?

This is quite a boring post as not many pictures were posted here. This morning, I attended the meeting at 10am with my restaurant manager and my colleagues . As usual, same time, same place.
I thought we will be seating talking about service system deliveries like what we did last time, but today is different. It was totally a surprise for me.
Just when I started to feel fed up waiting for the grand opening of the restaurant since a month earlier, the director of the restaurant happened to appear himself in the meeting today. He told us confidently that we shall be starting working on the 10th of October 2007.
Hussein, our restaurant manager ordered us to know the menu well as he will be giving us a quiz on it soon. Whoever don't pass the test shall remain a kitchen porter (taking dishes out from the kitchen to the restaurant, no chance to talk and serve the guest)
Suddenly, there is a fear within me. I start to feel nervous whenever I think about work. I need to know French, Italian and Spain cuisine well in order to SURVIVE in this restaurant. I need to know how to serve alcoholic beverages, handling complaints, using Micro system, taking orders, up selling...etc etc.
The restaurant ought to give the best service to our guest. They want everything done purfectly so that there will be a high level of customer satisfaction... customer will visit again...bla bla bla
Hello, does anyone realized that I am still considered a FRESHLY GRADUATED teenager here who have no experience in those kind of "purfectly serving skill"? I can't guarantee that I will do it all right BUT I will try my best to make it right the first time. This is the most I can promise for now cause I am not quite sure of myself though, not sure how far I can go.

The meeting only last for 2 hours as the manager was busy with other kinda stuffs. Of course la, restaurant opening soon boh, still got so much time lepaking with us meh? Felt kinda stupid heading home with those kind of uneasy feeling due to work, so I indulged myself in a shopping spree activity with Mindy the whole afternoon.
WAKAKAKAKA, I bought myself this pair of sensible shoes.
How could I not? I mean, hello!!Not long, I will be standing and walking around the floor of the restaurant for hourssssss serving millions of guests per day **As if** CAUSE according to our director, the restaurant will be VERY BUSY as many customer will head to our newly open restaurant o__O **we will see about that**

At night, We went to Tai Wu Chinese Restaurant. As I just received my salary today, of course it is time for me to reward myself abit. Frankly speaking, I really admire Jack and Poh Kiang because both of them know the menu of the restaurant very well. This is because they are both the loyal customers of Tai Wu? or experience in job really does make the difference?

When they asked me to order a dish, I had totally no idea what to order yet I afraid that I will ordered something bad. So, I just simply describe a dish to them which I ever ate last time then immediately they know what I want, some more they knew the name of the dish. WOW!!You guys ROCK!!!
I had really enjoyed my dinner just now. All together we ordered 6 type of dishes. **Great huh?**Prepare a tissue, I am going to show off those dishes out now!!** I didn't forget to snap the dishes this time**
Pork Leg, broccoli,button mushroom,carrot,hyacinth bean

Chicken wings fried with pepper and salt

vegetables

This was the dish I ordered. Beef braised in sweet and sour sauce. I'm loving it!! Why can't it be change to lamb meat instead of beef? Mindy didn't eat this dish as she can't eat beef. **mindy, Sorry **
Deep fried duck's tongue

Tauhu with mince meat
Chit chatting with them after such a nice meal did reduced my tension feeling towards work. I told myself to be brave. As I am a girl who likes challenges in life, I believe that this is the best time to prove that I am a tough girl!! I CAN DO IT!! YEAH!! GIVE ME FIVE!!
Suddenly I remembered the line of words which I saw once sticking in Mindy's room during exam time---IF YOU THINK YOU CAN, YOU CAN!!

30 September 2007

Busy studying the Menu

Walaune!! After studying the restaurant menu for the whole day, I start to feel kinda dizzy now. Those French and Italian dishes can really drive me nuts. I have to study their ingredients, have to imagine their taste etc etc.
But I say to myself, in order to work in this restaurant, I gotta build up my knowledge towards their menu so that I will not be left out.
Tomorrow I will be attending another meeting by the manager of the restaurant. Gotta sleep early..bye!

Thinking... Thinking...

Constructing a long list for my family now. The list contains items which I want them to sent to me over by sea parcel. Thinking hard now in order not to miss out any stuff... thinking...thinking...thinking...till I almost fall asleep just now.

28 September 2007

ME!! I am back again!!

I am so happy today!! I finally had my IGS sent out. Yoohoo! Now, I will just have to wait for them to approve my visa.
It is now mid autumn. The leaves of the tree starts to turn from green to yellow. Soon, I will see them falling all over the place.

This year will be the coldest year in Manchester. Well, I can feel that. I am wearing jacket and scarf wherever I go. Last year, I didn't even wear these kind of clothing.

Now, let me blog something which I saw yesterday. When I was roaming around Arndale shopping centre yesterday, I saw crowds standing at the center of the mall. Curiosity stroked me, so I went to take a look.

I saw a young teenager around the age of 20 performing trill moves by using his bicycle.

This was the best shot I took while I was looking down from the second floor. Can you see that bike? can you see that guy? can you see where his bike stood?

You gotta find him harder in this photo, he was like... ...on top of the van?? see it??

Oh, if you folks happen to wonder how the moon looked like over here during mooncake festival, here was how it looked like. This picture was taken on the second day after the mooncake festival.

It was round and big, but I don't know why...I got a feeling that the moon here is not the same as the moon in Malaysia... even though it is the same. Argh... I don't know... just a weird feeling...

Gah tee introduced me to this cow biscuit yesterday. I bought 1 for myself too cause I think that it's kinda cute and tasted nice too.

Did I ever mention that I didn't go to a saloon to have my haircut for more than a year? My hair seriously needs a trim, a cut or some treatment now. It's like a bunch of dead weeds on top of my head. I'm so SICK of it!!It's totally out of shape or should I say out of FASHION??

While I was at the bank just now, I spotted a girl who owns a haircut which I like so much!! Snapped this picture while she was talking on the phone. **my bad** Her hair had several layers cut on the top part and a very thin layer cut on the bottom. I like this hairstyle so so so much!!

We went for a nice buffet at Tai Wu Chinese restaurant just after we submitted in our IGS form. We were so in the mood to celebrate as Gah tee and Wern both got a job recently. I ate this... ...
So lucky today, they cooked mussels, I ate lots of it. Beside the mussels was Pork ribs braised in brown sauce and some taofu. I ate 2 plate of this, it was really so nice.

For the dessert I ate honeydew, peach, orange, cocktail fruit, some cakes and the most sinful among all, the ice creamssss. Too busy eating till I didn't snap any other photo. The buffet ended at 5.15pm, we went in at 3.40pm, so we gotta eat what we want within that time. It was kinda short actually. HAHAHA

I am still full till now. I guess I will be spending the whole day in my room tommorow as my bus pass had already expired. People out there, chat with cindy tomorrow, she will be available the whole day!!
